Job Title: System Architect, Global Statistics and Data Science
Report line: Data Science and Digital Innovations (DSDI), Global Statistics and Data Science

Purpose of Job:
System Architect will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of complex and innovative systems within BeiGene organization. Work closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, GTS, and cross-functional teams to define strategic technology solutions that align with business goals and drive organization success. The position requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of system architecture, strong business acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a R&D system architecture strategy that supports the organizations’ long-term goals and objectives, understand and assess existing system infrastructure, determine how best to update, upgrade and reorganize the technology to create a lean, efficient systems architecture capable of supporting various projects, products and business.
- Lead a team of system architects and engineers, providing guidance, mentoring and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects and digital products; proven record to lead internal, vendor or a hybrid team on supporting the deliverables
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize system requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic objectives
- Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures, utilizing best practices and industry standards
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends and market developments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the organization
- Drive the adoption of modern software development practices, tools and methodologies to enhance system performance, efficiency and maintainability
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DSDI product committee and GTS, to deliver integrated and cohesive solutions
- Stay abreast of industry advancements and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills
Qualification:
- Degree in computer science, information technology or a related field. Advanced certificate in system architecture is a plus
- Extensive experience in system architecture with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex system/technology within the organization
- Proficient in various system architecture frameworks, including but not limited to Linux operating systems, integrated development environments, TCP/IP, etc.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, driving collaboration, innovation and excellence
- Excellent problem sensitivity and good problem-solving skills
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability of excellent interpersonal skills to effectively influence and lead the people from customers to stakeholders to team members
- Good delegation skills to be able to clearly portray expectations for tasks, resist micromanaging team members and regularly check in the status of the task
- Good prioritization skills to be able to objectively enforce prioritization to successfully complete tasks and meet goals and deadlines
