Director, R&D Program Management, Strategy and Planning

JOB TYPE: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for coordinating, facilitating, managing multiple R&D programs, complex cross-functional and cross-program strategic management including non-clinical research, CMC, and clinical studies
  2. Coordinate development process planning activities, including integrated development plans, long-range planning, budget inputs, and go/no go decisions as appropriate
  3. Define and track program scope, risks, critical path, dependencies, budget/costs, and time
  4. Collaborate with the clinical, regulatory, scientific, and other teams as directed
  5. Organize and coordinate team meetings/agendas/minutes including tracking action items
  6. Coordinate communications to ensure team alignment
  7. Issue and present reports to senior management on a routine basis


  1. Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field required; Advanced degree (MS or MBA or higher) with relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience required
  2. At least 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug development with demonstrated success leading global programs in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  3. At least 5 years of cross-functional program management experience in the biotechnology industry
  4. Training, coaching, and leadership experience
  5. Knowledgeable in at least one functional area (proven experience); has to be able to assess the validity of overall program/project strategy and deliverables
  6. Knowledge or expertise in one or more of the following: discovery, preclinical and clinical stages of drug development
